I always go in Dalí uniform.”  Salvador DalíDiary of a Genius.

Dalí’s fashion forays are extensive. There are his own unending series of flamboyant outfits, all designed to shock and awe.  He designed jewelry and collaborated with Dior and Schiaparelli.  He’s the unabashed poster-boy for creative self-styling. The young Dalí was a dashing dandy.  Unlike Nevelson and Georgia O’Keeffe who styled themselves memorably as they got older, Dalí became a caricature of himself.

I love how the eccentricity of the artist and the liberties is takes toward fashion are expressed on his paintings.
I would also like to make a proposition for an eventual future article. I think that it would be interesting to include an article on the architect Le Corbusier. Not only he was a very intriguing character who reflected his personality on his work, but he also had a peculiar and iconic approach to fashion. I think that le Corbusier would perfectly fit in the atmosphere of the blog because his attitude toward fashion seems to be something inscribe into his personality and his intellect. Now nobody could think about Le Corbusier without seeing his rounded glasses or his bow tie; those elements implicitly became his trademark. To close my argument I would say that although this relationship isn’t obvious to everyone, architecture is in a way tied to fashion as being the expression of one’s aesthetic beliefs, and Le Corbusier’s architecture is intimately related to his way of dressing.

If I’m not mistaken, le corbusier filmed Dali, carrying a lit candelabra, being chased by Schiaparelli up and down the internal staircase at Villa Savoye…

First of all I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick
question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your
thoughts prior to writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any recommendations or hints? Many thanks!

Scientifiquement impossible.

  12. Hi Laylita,I wanted to let you know that after trying another recipe from a “Spanish Tapas” book and throwing the 2 batches out. I remembered your recipe, so I printed it and it saved the day! My mini Empanadas turned out great! I made a total of 85. I still have about 40 left, I had more food that I really needed at my party. They are frozen and I am vacuum packing them in my foodsaver, for the guys for Christmas snacks. My guys can eat. LOL. Love your recipe, next time I want to do some sweet ones. Do you have any ideas for Sweet ones?Julie

Mary, You're an expert at blogging and baking! Fortunately for me, we have (still)some great old bakeries in New York where one can get hot cross buns and other old world specialties. Otherwise, I might have to learn to bake.

  15. LOL—Thanks, Ileandra! That ever-changing community widget shows a selection of everyone who has left a like or comment on my posts. And I’ve noticed in my stats that viewers must be clicking on it. I think it’s a nice and simple way to help share other blogs.

  16. Every code I try either creates a large blank at the top of the page, or at the bottom of the site. Its certainly that code causing it.. I’ve tried a whole lot of snippets trying to ditch the blogs & widespread network, except they all create a blank\cf2 cf2 either at the top or at the top.. Anyone got one that will not cause the blank? Or how to remove thewhite gap?.

any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please share.

I know this is off topic but I simply wanted to ask.
    Thanks!
